Prof. Dr. Margreet Zwarteveen co-leads WP 5: Fisherfolks' Weather – and Climate-related Knowledge ∞ Action Networks.

Margreet is professor of Water Governance at IHE Delft Institute for Water Education in the Netherlands, with an affiliation with the University of Amsterdam. Originally trained as an engineer, Margreet is now a critical (feminist) social scientist with an interest in water. She has over 30 years of experience in researching how institutions, technologies and markets shape water allocation and regulate water flows, often with highly uneven outcomes. Beyond exposing the structural power relations that help explain water-based inequities, Margreet is interested in noticing and supporting potentially more equitable and sustainable ways of doing and relating to water.
