Lucie Bahati

WP 4 PhD researcher

Lucie Bahati is a PhD researcher in Workpackage 4: Smallholders' Weather- and Climate-related Knowledge ∞ Action Networks, working with Congolese smallholder farmers. She is based both at ISDR-Bukavu and ISS/EUR.

Lucie is an agronomist /phytotechnician. She is also a member of civil society and representative of a network of rural women's associations since 2023 in North Kivu in the DR Congo. Her network (RENAFER) brings together more than 20 rural women's associations working in various value chains and several production systems, both rainfed and irrigated. Lucie is passionate about her work in supporting people who face several climatic challenges including erosion, seasonal disturbances, water flood etc.

The CLIMARES program interest her because it will allow her to acquire more knowledge to respond to the challenges related to climate change and contribute to formulating recommendations and implementing innovative solutions to face the challenges of women producers.
