WP 7 PhD researcher

Maroua Dahbi is a PhD researcher in WP 7: Pastoralists' Weather – and Climate-related Knowledge ∞ Action Networks. She works with pastoralists in Morocco and is based at the Hassan II Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine Institute, and at Maastricht University.

Maroua has a Master’s degree (Engineering diploma) in Animal Science from IAV Hassan II in Rabat. Over the past few years, she has been working as an Engineer in Animal Production, focusing on ruminant nutrition, feed quality, animal health, and hygiene management.

Her first job was herd manager in a dairy farm of 2000 cows and afterwards she joined a company specialised in animal nutrition as a ruminant technical manager. In this role, she had the opportunity to work closely with farmers, cooperatives, and international partners. These experiences have given her a deep understanding of the real challenges pastoral and livestock systems face from improving productivity to adapting to environmental pressures.
