Teddy Kisembo

WP 8 PhD researcher

Teddy Kisembo is PhD researcher in WP 8: Displaced Populations' Weather- and Climate-related Knowledge ∞ Action Networks. She will work with displaced populations in Uganda, and is based at both Makerere University, and ISS/EUR.

Teddy is a proud Ugandan who is passionate about the strength and vibrancy of her communities. Her work has given her the opportunity of collaborating closely with many different groups, from urban neighborhoods in Kampala to refugee settlements. Through this, she has seen firsthand that while people may face challenges, they are not defined by them. Instead, they are active, resourceful, and full of innovative ideas for their own development. This conviction, that the solutions we need are already rooted in our communities, is what drives her professional work and her desire to co-produce knowledge that truly listens to and amplifies these voices. She is passionate about using participatory approaches to ensure marginalized communities are included in planning and development, aiming to create livable and equitable communities for all.
